About time...
It has ben a hot minute since South Beach has truly awoken and given us the goods. Yea, we've had some swells here and there over the last 24 months, but nothing memorable or sizeable.
Thanks to TS Debby, who started out in Gulf of Mexico, crossed overto the Atlantic and shot us a direct North Swell right into our swell window, South Beach lit up for the day of June 28, 2012 for the entire day and served up some of the most ripable surf seen in recent years offering up surf which ranged from the Chest high range to a few peaks hovering in the well overhead range. A light onshore breeze provided the local crew with plenty of ramps and bowls to sink their fins into. Chucky definitely scored the mutant of the day with a frothy jetty peak monster sequence.
Lou Lozada, Robert Lyon and Annie Tworoger were all courteous enough to take the day off and instead of surfing or working, document the swell event and score some excellent images. Support your local photographer and click on the images links and send them a direct message, ask their permission, or god forbid, actually purchase the image from them. These people have jobs and bills to pay just like you, they took the day off to shoot pics of you going over the falls, so throw them a few bucks and tell 'em thank you. They'll remember you for it and more than likely shoot you again in the year 2018 when we get another swell.
*UPDATED*
Special thanks to Robert Lyon for shooting pics of this swell as well. Check out more of his pics here at www.robertlyonphoto.com
